Exchanges for U.S. Orders

We gladly offer free exchanges on all U.S. orders within 30 days of order delivery. Our priority is that you love the items you order and they fit your dog beautifully. To initiate an exchange, please email hello@djangobrand.com.

Exchanges for International Orders

For non-U.S. exchanges, customers are required to ship back the items via their local post office or courier. We are unable to provide free, prepaid return labels for international orders. Once we receive the exchange item, we'll ship out the new replacement item.

U.S. Returns

Our priority is that you love your DJANGO products and they work for you and your dog pawfectly. If for any reason you need to return an item, you have 30 days from order delivery to initiate a return and receive a refund.

What if my dog has worn an item?

We encourage customers to try on items at home, but we kindly ask that all return items are new, unaltered, unwashed, and dog hair free (a lint brush works great at removing dog hair!).

Is there a return cost?

Yes. For U.S. orders, the only cost associated with a return is the return shipping fee. This cost is based primarily on the weight and size of the package. For smaller items like harnesses, collars, and leashes, the return shipping fee is typically around $7.50. For larger items such as the DjangoPack™ Dog Carrier Backpack or DjangoTote™ Dog Carrier Bag, the return label cost usually ranges from $13–$15 due to the increased weight and larger box required for safe return. This amount is simply deducted from your refund once the return is processed.

We do our best to keep return costs as low as possible and are always here to help if you have any questions about your return.

International Returns

We’re unable to provide return labels for international orders. International customers are responsible for return shipping costs and may ship returns using their preferred carrier. We recommend choosing a tracked service and marking the package as a return to avoid unnecessary customs delays.

The DjangoPack™ is designed for small dogs and cats up to approximately 20–25 lbs, depending most importantly on back length, height, and overall body shape. Weight matters, but it does not tell the full story — especially for long-bodied breeds like dachshunds and corgis.

For the most accurate sizing guidance, please use the DjangoPack™ Fit Guide near the Add to Cart button before ordering. Simply enter your dog’s weight and back length, measured from the base of the neck to the base of the tail, and the guide will let you know whether your pup is likely to be a strong fit, a compact fit, or not recommended.

How should my dog sit or stand inside the DjangoPack™?

Your dog should be able to ride naturally on all fours inside the DjangoPack™, with their body supported by the structured base. Most dogs will stand, sit, or rest in a cozy, compact position while riding.

Because the DjangoPack™ is a backpack-style carrier, it is not designed for most dogs to lie fully stretched out. Rather, it is designed to keep your dog securely and comfortably supported while you walk, hike, travel, or explore hands-free. The side windows can also be rolled back and secured open, giving your pup extra headroom, airflow, and visibility when you are on the go.

For the best experience, your dog should have enough room to settle comfortably without being folded, squeezed, or forced into an unnatural position.

Is the DjangoPack™ airline approved?

No. The DjangoPack™ is not marketed as an airline-approved under-seat carrier. It is designed for hiking, city outings, sightseeing, errands, train travel, car travel, and everyday hands-free adventures with your dog.

For air travel, we recommend choosing a soft-sided airline carrier that meets your specific airline’s current under-seat size requirements. Airline rules and aircraft space can vary, so always check directly with your airline before flying with your pet.

Is this dog carrier backpack comfortable for hiking and long walks?

Yes and yes. The DjangoPack™ includes an interior safety leash that can attach to your dog’s harness for added security inside the carrier. For your dog’s safety and wellbeing, we always recommend attaching the safety leash to a well-fitting harness rather than a collar.

The DjangoPack™ also features premium YKK locking zippers. This means the zippers lock securely in place when closed, preventing your dog from nudging or pushing the zippers open from inside the backpack while you are on the go.

Is the DjangoPack™ safe for dogs with IVDD or sensitive backs?

The DjangoPack™ was thoughtfully designed with long-backed and back-sensitive breeds in mind. Unlike upright dog backpack carriers, the DjangoPack™ has a structured horizontal base that supports your dog on all fours in a more natural riding position.

Is the bed washable?

Yes. The quilted bed cover can be removed from the sturdy base insert and machine washed separately on a gentle cycle with cold water. Line dry completely before reassembling.
