Unless you are an interior designer with a blank check, furnishing a home is anything but easy. After over a decade in a small city apartment, Mike and I (Steph) moved into our first house two years ago. This summer, I decided to furnish our spacious outdoor deck and delved into the world of outdoor furniture and patio lounge sets. My goal was to find a beautiful, practical, and reasonably priced outdoor furniture set that could withstand bouncing toddlers, endless dog hair, and every kind of east coast weather.

In my countless Google and Amazon searches, I eventually came across GRAND PATIO. This company has been around for twenty years and specializes in outdoor living furniture and decor—lounge and conversation sets, cantilever umbrellas, dining and bar sets, and more. In addition to having a modern website, they are a premium outdoor furniture seller on Amazon with tons of 5-star reviews (this is where I first discovered them).

Unboxing our Grand Patio Outdoor Lounge Set

Grand Patio's 5-Piece Outdoor Furniture Conversation Set arrives in two large and heavy boxes. For box size reference, our sausage dog Django is 13 lbs and about a foot tall. It will take two people to move the boxes.

The sofa parts arrived in one box, and the two chairs and nesting coffee table parts arrived in the second. I was impressed with how well every part was packaged and intentionally positioned within the box. Each seat leg was meticulously wrapped, the pillow cushions were vacuum packaged and sealed for protection, and every furniture corner had padding to prevent dents or scratches. Given this professional packing, all parts unsurprisingly arrived in perfect condition.

Ordering furniture that requires assembly can be a gamble. Will the furniture assembly be complicated and time-consuming? Does set up require two people? For our family, the second question is key. With a 5-year old, 2-year old, and 6-month old baby, Mike and I are never simultaneously kid-free!

With our 5-piece Grand Patio outdoor lounge set, I am happy to report that assembly was incredibly straightforward and simple. I (Steph) assembled all parts without another set of hands and in a relatively short period of time. Unboxing and set up took approximately 2 hours, start to finish.

Style, Comfort, and Size

Modern Design and a Neutral Color Pallette 

I absolutely love the style of our Grand Patio outdoor furniture set! As you can see in all of our photos, the set has a modern flair. The neutral and light beige color palette along with the rounded wrap-around design creates a cozy and inviting atmosphere for lounging and relaxing. The synthetic rattan, also known as PE wicker, is also beautiful and quite high-end looking.

A quick note on cushion color...

If I had to knock off any points, it would be for cushion color expectations. On the Grand Patio product listing, the cushion colors are medium taupe. The cushions we received are lighter than what the website shows—beige with a hint of ivory. Is this an issue? For us, not at all. I love the soft beige color. It's neutral, elegant, and very pretty. For those looking for a very specific color, however, this is something to keep in mind.

Comfortable and Inviting

Is this outdoor patio set comfortable? Yes! The sofa and chair cushions are comfortable and firm. And after a lot of use all summer long, the cushions have all retained their shape. Both the sofa and chairs are also on the deep side, making them perfect for lounging. They are the kind of seats you don't want to get up from once you sit down!

Space-Saving Design

Regarding size, this Grand Patio lounge set is considered a "space-saving design". Rather than a massive outdoor sofa, this particular set includes a two-person loveseat and two individual chairs. The loveseat can very comfortably fit 2 adults with room to spare. The chairs are individual and can each fit one person. Weight capacity per chair is 330 lbs.

We arranged our set in a wide style—sofa in the middle and chairs on either end—to encourage conversation and also allow everyone seated to easily view the backyard where our kids run around and play. Weather-Resistance and Overall Durability

Before investing in furniture like our outdoor lounge set, I always consider how durable, easy-to-clean, and family-friendly the items are. Are fabrics dirt- and stain-resistant? Are cushion covers machine washable? Is the metal frame of the furniture weather- and rust-resistant?

With our Grand Patio 5-Piece Outdoor Furniture Conversation Set, all of these boxes are checked:

• Steel Furniture Frames: These are coated to be weather- and rain-proof.
• All-Weather PE Wicker: Unlike natural wicker which is vulnerable to water and UV rays, Grand Patio's hand-woven and synthetic wicker is all-weather. It's designed to withstand exposure to water, sunlight, and other outdoor elements. According to the Grand Patio website, their synthetic wicker can withstand 1500 hours of UV light and is fade-resistant.
• Olefin Fabric: Olefin fabric is the best! The Olefin fabric on our Grand Patio outdoor lounge set is durable, stain-resistant, and water-resistant. This was a huge selling point for our family since we have a long-haired dog and 3 small kids that somehow get food or dirt on everything!

Can this Grand Patio outdoor patio set be cleaned easily?

Yes! The Olefin fabric is incredibly easy to clean, and all cushion covers can be removed and machine washed as needed.

Even though our patio set is not sitting directly under any trees or foliage, the wind will occasionally cause yellow pollen and dirt to land on our outdoor sofa and chairs. If the pollen or dirt gets rubbed into the fabric, I simply take a clean and damp washcloth (I always use cold water) and gently scrub at the stain until it comes out. I've been able to clean out all stains so far with this approach. For tougher dirt or pollen marks, mild soap can also be used.

Conclusion: A modern, weather-resistant, and family-friendly outdoor patio set at an afforable price.
