Will the DjangoPack™ Fit Your Dog?
Wondering if our dog backpack carrier will fit your pet? This quick guide covers sizing, measurements, and how to choose the right fit for small dogs and cats up to 20–25 lbs.
Quick size guide
| Measurement | Recommended guidance |
|---|---|
| Weight | Best for small dogs up to 20–25 lbs (9-11 kg) |
| Back length | Best for dogs with a back length (neck to base of tail) around 16 inches (41 cm) or less |
| Body shape | Works well for many small dog body types, including long-bodied, compact, stocky, and petite builds |
| Comfort check | Your dog should be able to sit, rest, and settle comfortably inside without being tightly compressed |
Every dog is shaped differently, so weight alone does not guarantee fit. Back length, height, body shape, and your dog’s comfort level are all important.

Best for
- Small dogs up to approximately 20–25 lbs
- Dogs with a back length around 16 inches or less
- Small dogs, dachshunds, corgis, Frenchies, pugs, terriers, toy breeds, puppies, and cats who are comfortable in enclosed carriers
- Dogs who get tired on walks, hikes, errands, or travel days
- Dogs who rest best in a structured carrier that lets them stay naturally on all fours
May not be the best fit for
- Dogs with a back length over ~16 inches, even if they are under 25 lbs
- Dogs over 25 lbs, or dogs near that weight with a longer or taller build that may need more interior space
- Dogs who strongly dislike enclosed spaces or prefer more open carriers
- Teething puppies or heavy chewers who may bite straps, mesh, or zippers if left unsupervised
DjangoPack™ Dimensions
| Dimension | Measurement |
|---|---|
| Width | 14 inches |
| Depth (front to back) | 10 inches |
| Height | 18.5 inches |
The 10" depth provides supportive space for longer-bodied dogs and stocky breeds, while the structured base helps your dog stay comfortable and stable during walks, hikes, and travel.

Dimensions provide a helpful guide, but your dog’s back length, height, and overall comfort inside the carrier are the most important factors.
Puppy note
The DjangoPack™ can be a great option for puppies, but please supervise closely. Puppy teeth can be sharp and may damage mesh, straps, or zippers if left unattended.
