We (Mike and Steph) have a lot of experience with strollers and wagons. With three small children between the ages of 6 months and 5 years, we have tried and tested almost everything when it comes to kid-friendly transportation.

Earlier this year, we ordered Gladly's Anthem4 All-Terrain Wagon Stroller. Although we absolutely love our UPPAbaby Vista stroller and still use it for our baby girl, we needed a larger, comfortable, and easy-to-maneuver wagon for our growing toddler and 5-year old. Have you ever tried to drag the Vista through sand on the beach? It's impossible.

In this DJANGO blog article, we review the Gladly Anthem4 All-Terrain Wagon Stroller based on our extensive experience using the 4-seater wagon this year. We review the functionality of the wagon, how well it handles and moves on various types of terrain, and its infant-friendly features. If you have any questions or want to share your own experience with the Gladly Anthem Wagon Stroller, please leave a comment below. We'd love to hear from you!

Gladly Anthem Wagon Review

Gladly Anthem Wagon Overview

The Gladly Anthem Wagon Stroller is a premium, versatile, and stylish wagon for children and infants. Available in two sizes, Anthem2 and Anthem4, the wagon can accommodate 2 and 4 children, respectively. Regarding exact sizing and weight specs:

  • The Anthem2 comfortably holds two children, up to 50 lbs each. The wagon's total weight limit is 150 lbs, and the wagon itself weighs 27 lbs.
  • The Anthem4 comfortably holds 4 children, up to 50 lbs each. The wagon's total weight limit is 250 lbs, and the wagon itself weighs 42 lbs.

Since we have 3 children, we opted for the larger Anthem4 which seats 4 children and has 3-point safety harnesses for each seat. Our goal was to get a high quality wagon stroller that would comfortably seat our two boys and baby girl once she is old enough to ride alongside her bothers.

For review purposes, we'll be sharing our experience with the Anthem4 wagon since this is the exact product we own (in color Sea Moss which is really beautiful!). With that said, the Anthem2 and Anthem4 share many of the same features. No matter which Gladly Anthem you are considering, this wagon stroller product review should be helpful for you!

Anthem Wagon Functionality: Seating, Storage, Folding, and More

Anthem Wagon Seating and Comfort

Our boys love our Anthem4 wagon stroller and always ask if we can bring it with us on outings. Funny enough, we have a double stroller that we stopped using as soon as we got our Anthem4. It just doesn't compare in terms of comfort, roominess, and maneuverability.

The Anthem wagon features padded seats and a spacious middle section for leg room. It is the perfect height for our 5-year old to get in and out on his own. Our 2 year old loves getting in on his own, but we usually help him out to avoid any unnecessary accidents.

For sizing reference, our 5 year old is just under 40 lbs, and our 2 year old is roughly 30 lbs. With the Anthem4, our two boys have a lot of space for relaxing while we're on the go. They are never uncomfortable and can always move around quite easily. I also love knowing that there is extra room on each side of them for their little sister and/or a friend or two.

Anthem Wagon Storage

This is where Gladly thought of everything. I really love how much functional storage space we have with the Anthem wagon. For convenience and safe stashing, the wagon includes multiple storage containers and a large basket for essentials.

The wagon handle has two attachments, a cup holder for a standard drink (i.g. water bottle or coffee cup) and another large storage container with a lid for items that need extra security—keys, iPhone, wallet, etc.

On each side of the Anthem4 seating area are 4 cup holders (note: a large snack tray with 2 cup holders is included with the Anthem2). Since we're only using our Anthem4 wagon for our two boys right now, my husband and I have been using the extra cup holders for ourselves. Between water bottles for everyone and the occasional coffee to-go cups, we need all the cup holders we can get!

At the front of the Anthem wagon is a large, removable basket. The basket is big enough to hold hats, sunscreen bottles, toys, stuffed animals, and even a toddler backpack. It is a great addition to the stroller and something we use every time we are out and about as a family.

Set Up, Folding, and Storing

Setting up our Anthem4 wagon was very straightforward. Detailed and easy-to-follow setup instructions are included when you first unbox the Gladly wagon. It probably took me 15 minutes from unboxing to full setup.

Folding the Anthem wagon is usually easy... and occasionally tricky. If I had to knock off any points for the Anthem wagon, this would be the one area I'd mark for design improvement.

How to fold the Gladly Anthem4?

To collapse the Gladly Anthem4 wagon, first push down the canopies so they are flush with the wagon's body. Next, locate the slider and button on the front of the stroller (the end opposite the handle). The slider is on the top of the frame, and the button is just below it. Slide the slider and push on the button simultaneously. I find myself having to give both a good wiggle before the seats begin to collapse inwards. Once this happens, you can push down on the wagon frame and fully collapse the wagon.

For easy storage, we almost always opt to remove the wheels and rest them in the wagon interior. The Anthem wagon wheels are very easy to remove and secure back on (another great design feature).

What are the dimensions of the Gladly Anthem wagon?
Extras—XL canopies and lounge pad
Canopies provide protection from sun, wind, and rain

Both the Anthem2 and Anthem4 come with 2 extra large canopies that provide shade from the sun and protection from rain and windchill. They are adjustable and removable, and they feature breathable mesh areas for ventilation and reflective stripes for visibility at night.

The double canopies are a fantastic feature! During a recent beach vacation, both of our boys loved the option of sitting in the shade on hot, sunny days. Each of our boys was also able to control "his" canopy on his side of the wagon. So if one wanted full sun, he kept his canopy down. If the other wanted shade, he kept his canopy up.

Lounge pad: a fantastic feature for parents with newborns and babies!

The Anthem's lounge pad converts the baby-friendly wagon into a lie-flat space for newborns and babies. It essentially transforms the wagon into a clean, shaded, ventilated, and off-the-ground crib.

We have a 5 month old baby girl, Zoe, and our Anthem wagon stroller was the perfect place for her when we vacationed at the beach. Once we arrived at the beach and the boys jumped into the sand, we'd convert our wagon into a lounge area for Zoe and pull up the two large canopies for shade. Zoe loved being able to lie down and roll around, and we loved the fact that she was out of the sand and protected from the hot sun.

Truly All-Terrain! Best Wagon Stroller for Beach, Boardwalk, and More

Large, rugged wheels allow movement through sand and tough terrain

I'm always skeptical when wagon strollers claim to be "all-terrain". We have owned cheaper wagons that make this claim but don't budge in sand and have difficulty on anything bumpier than a sidewalk.

I am happy to report that the Gladly Anthem stroller wagon is truly all-terrain!

The Anthem wagon stroller has a set of four rugged wheels that clip on and off the wagon frame easily. The front wheels (opposite the handle) are especially large and seem to be built for the bumpiest landscapes.

We've used the wagon in almost every type of environment: sand, sidewalks, dirt trails, gravel roads, grassy fields. The stroller wagon moves really well no matter what the landscape.

Is the wagon more difficult to pull or push on the beach when our two boys (total weight just under 60 lbs) are sitting inside and the sand is thick, dry, and soft? Yes. With that said, the wagon still moves well—much better than any other stroller and wagon we've owned. For this reason, I'm a very happy customer.

Easy to maneuver, comfortable to push and pull, and a smooth ride all-around

I decided to write this stroller wagon review after our family spent a week at a beach house with our Anthem4 wagon. Every morning after breakfast, my husband and I put our two boys in our Anthem4 wagon stroller and embarked on a 4-mile roundtrip walk. We moved quickly to get our heart rates up and enjoy the boardwalk before it became overwhelmed with visitors later in the day.

I have never been more impressed with the maneuverability of a ride-on wagon. Despite a bumpy boardwalk and somewhat heavy cargo (our two boys), I was comfortable and at ease pushing the Anthem wagon stroller for 4 miles. This Gladly stroller wagon moves smoothly and easily with zero friction and zero difficulty.

The Anthem4 wagon is incredibly comfortable to push, easy to steer and turn, and a smooth and comfortable ride for both me and the kids. Highly recommend!

Extra points for the modern and stylish design

Gladly's Anthem wagon is easily one of the best looking wagon strollers for families, thanks to its sleek design, modern aesthetics, and high quality materials. It is a sophisticated-looking stroller wagon, and it is no surprise it has become a top choice for parents seeking both elegance and practicality.

As mentioned before, we ordered color  Sea Moss and absolutely love it. It is a rich and deep hue of green that pops beautifully. The other available colors include Neon Indigo, Sand & Sea, Electric Silver, and Graphite Special Edition.

Can you put an infant in the Anthem Wagon Stroller?

Yes! The Anthem wagon can also be used with an infant car seat when you purchase Gladly's universal car seat adapter (sold separately). Here is the link to the Anthem2 car seat adapter, and here is the Anthem4 car seat adapter. They are priced at $49.99 at time of writing and fit most infant car seats including the Uppababy Mesa, Chicco Keyfit 30, Chicco Keyfit 35, Nuna Pipa, Britax Car Seats, and more.

As mentioned above, the Anthem wagon also comes with a high quality lounge pad that converts the wagon stroller into a lie-flat space for newborns and babies. We absolutely love the lounge pad feature and use it for our baby girl every time we go to the beach or park.

Final Thought: Is the Gladly Anthem4 All-Terrain Wagon Stroller Worth It?

Absolutely, the Gladly Anthem All-Terrain Wagon Stroller is worth it. After months of experience using the Gladly Anthem for our family of five, I absolutely recommend this wagon stroller to parents and families.

I looked at a lot of wagons before deciding on the Anthem, and I read a lot of stroller wagon reviews. The Anthem wagon is a beautiful, premium stroller wagon that is truly all-terrain. It provides smooth rides for kids and a comfortable experience for parents. It is a fantastic choice for those that want the most comfortable and versatile mode of transport for their family and are willing and able to pay more for a much better product.

The Anthem's meticulous design, high quality materials, and smooth maneuverability make it an excellent choice for families looking to invest in a premium stroller wagon. Highly recommend!
